She might have looked harmless when she showed up at the front door saying she was “waiting for my dad” and there to see the Porsche.

She was not harmless. She was dangerous. She was, allegedly, there to steal the Porsche.

The alleged obfuscation worked, and she was given access to the vehicle. Things went downhill from there on Sept. 6. She allegedly didn’t just steal the Porsche but ran over its owner in the process, too. Now you can help Peel Regional Police catch the woman in this shocking security video and her alleged accomplices.

Peel cops said the suspect is described as a female, South Asian, 5-foot-5, 120 pounds with a thin build, long brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, brown skirt, and leather-strapped sandals.

Somebody has to know her. Make the call if you do.

This crime has police reminding the public to “be vigilant when selling items online, and to utilize Peel Regional Police Buy and Sell Exchange Zones located at each Peel Police Division.”

The video is pretty clear. And disturbing. It shows a young woman coming to a door and ringing the doorbell in the Eglinton Ave.-Winston Churchill Blvd. area in Mississauga to ask about seeing a 2022 Porsche that the owner had listed for sale in the AutoTrader.

The video shows the owner walking around his car as the woman sits in the driver’s seat when suddenly the car is put into reverse and speeds out of the driveway — completely running over the man.

Police said the victim is stable and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He will live. Luckily.

It’s a heinous crime.

With more than 50 cars stolen or carjacked in the GTA every day, people have become accustomed to the reality that this is the way things are now. But the difference today, from the earlier eras of grabbing cars to put on shipping containers destined for customers abroad, is many of the criminals are getting around security systems and measures by not using technology but by trying to get the keys.

They do this through home invasions, carjackings and in this case, posing as a customer to purchase a used vehicle.

It reminds of the evil murder of Tim Bosma, where people posed as wanting to purchase his truck but instead killed the family man from Ancaster. In that case, Bosma was in the truck for the test drive. In this case, the car owner stayed on the outside of the car.

The video of what happened next is difficult to watch. But it’s necessary to see because Peel cops need someone to drop a dime on who this woman is and who she runs with.

If ever people deserve to be put before the courts, iit’s this crew.

The video shows this was not a benign female who can be trusted. It was the opposite.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-453–2121, ext. 1152, Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit peelcrimestoppers.ca.
