Woman, 65, charged in death of boy struck by school bus in Kleinburg

A 65-year-old Vaughan woman has been charged with dangerous operation causing death in connection with the death of six-year-old Matteo Caputi.
Caputi was struck by a school bus in the area of Kleinburg Summit Way and Pierre Berton Blvd. around 8 a.m. on June 19.
When York Regional Police officers arrived that day, they found Caputi with fatal injuries and he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the bus remained at the scene.

In a GoFundMe page, that has raised over close to $206,000 for Caputi’s family since it started just after his death, Matteo was described as “a happy little boy who lit up the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. He was a cherished son, brother, grandson and nephew. He loved country music and loved playing the drums. He adored his little brother Luca very much.”
The GoFundMe was started by ReMax Premier Inc., where Matteo’s grandmother, Luisa, works.
