A woman was found shot to death in a south Etobicoke condo early Wednesday.

Toronto Police say officers responded to an “unknown trouble call” involving a suspected shooting in a highrise at 251 Manitoba Rd. – near Park Lawn Rd. and the Gardiner Expressway – around 4:30 a.m.

“It is reported that condo security received calls from residents reporting hearing a violent interaction followed by the sound of a loud bang,” Const. Victor Kwong said in a statement released Wednesday. “Security investigated and found a woman who had been shot.”

“Despite life-saving measures by emergency services, the woman was later pronounced deceased at the scene,” he added.

Kwong said a man was seen fleeing the area, but no suspect description was immediately available.

“The identity of the woman will not be released until next of kin have been notified,” he said of the city’s 17th murder victim of the year.
