The driver of the car, a woman in her 40s who was said to be seven months pregnant, was reportedly arriving at work when the mishap happened at the front of the long-term care home.

It is unsure what direction the car was travelling, or what caused the woman to lose control.

Firefighters had to cut a section of the roof off to remove the driver from her car. The woman was taken to hospital to be assessed for injuries and precautions because she was pregnant.

It is unsure in what capacity the woman worked at Seven Oaks.

A firefighter at the scene believed the front right side of the car hit a large rock in front of the side doors of the building, preventing the vehicle from crashing into the building and flipping on its side instead.

Concerned staff from inside the facility recovered a lot of the woman’s personal belongings after the SUV was flipped back onto its wheels by a tow truck.

Toronto Police are investigating. It’s unknown whether any charges are pending.
