According to Essex County OPP, the victim had entered into a relationship with the accused, “engaging in intimate activities.”

The accused then allegedly claimed to be pregnant and “demanded” money from the victim to help cover the cost of medical expenses.

The Essex County OPP detachment located in the Municipality of Lakeshore was alerted to the fraud in February.

In an emailed statement on Thursday afternoon, the Essex County OPP said the 26-year-old Windsor resident was charged with fraud over $5,000 on June 6.
