AutoTrader says amid ongoing economic pressures, Canadians are prioritizing affordability, reliability, and utility when choosing their next vehicle.
Perennial favourites such as the Ford F-150, Toyota RAV4 , and Honda Civic continue to be among both the top searched and top sold vehicles in 2024, while luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz have seen their lowest search and sales representation since 2019.
For the second consecutive year, no luxury nameplates appear on the top-10 sold list.
“This year, our data points to a shift away from aspirational purchases, as Canadian consumers adapt to the realities of a challenging economic landscape,” said Ian MacDonald, AutoTrader’s chief marketing officer.
