$50,000 reward offered for those responsible in 2021 homicide of man near Midland

The government of Ontario is offering a $50,000 reward in the hope of solving the 2021 murder of Jonus Keegan Palmer.

The 24-year-old, who his mother describes as “a gentle giant” due to his size, was shot and killed outside of a residence where he was staying on Old Fort Road in Tay Township, just outside Midland, around 11:00 p.m. on July 5, 2021.

The Ontario Provincial Police’s Southern Georgian Bay Detachment responded to the call and launched an investigation after his death was deemed a homicide.

The reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for Palmer’s death.

The investigation by the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Crime Unit is ongoing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
