Officials tested 40,019 people Thursday and another 35,436 cases are under investigation.

There were another nine deaths reported Friday for a total of 3,080 lives lost to the pandemic, roughly two-thirds had been residents of long-term care facilities.
Outbreaks have been declared in 77 long-term care facilities with 229 resident and 237 staff testing positive.

Durham Region reported 38 new cases Friday, Halton Region 34, and Hamilton 15.
Premier Doug Ford said he has had discussions with municipal leaders, including in Halton, and will be able to announce on Monday if this region or others will also be rolled back to a modified Stage 2.
“Folks in Halton, I know they’re doing a great job, but it’s concerning right now,” Ford said. “I’ve seen the numbers go up again.”
