On Aug. 17, 2023, Rahman, 44, suffered serious injuries in an assault on the street outside his restaurant, The Curry House, on 2nd Avenue East just south of 10th Street in Owen Sound.

He would never regain consciousness after the confrontation and died in hospital in London a week later, on Aug. 24.

Shortly after his death, police released grainy images of men running from the area, as well as images of a vehicle believed to have been involved. Police said three Caucasian men had been at the restaurant and had a dispute with Rahman in relation to the business.

“The OSPS and the OPP thank the Owen Sound community for their support and valuable tips provided,” the police said Thursday.

“We recognize the significant impact this case has had on the community and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation.

The investigation continues and anyone with any information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
