A 20-year-old Barrie woman is going to have a huge bar tab after winning a top OLG prize.
Despite her young age, Stacia Konieczny has become a regular lottery player and typically plays once a week, she said while picking up her winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
Her favourite games are Crossword and Bingo — rightfully so given that it was an Instant Crossword Tripler ticket that earned her $100,000.
“I was at home, sitting in the living room with my family,” she recounted.
“We were having a nice time and catching up on our day when I decided to check my tickets using the OLG app on my phone,” she continued. “I scanned this ticket and… holy!”
Konieczny noted that when she saw the prize amount, she couldn’t believe it.
“My face went completely blank,” she recalled. “I thought to myself, ‘What am I seeing? How can this be real? This is insane!’”
She then relayed the exciting news to her family and a close friend, who immediately replied, “Drinks are on you!”

She added that her family was “so supportive and happy for me.”
The young woman plans to put her money toward a down payment on a house.
“I feel extremely fortunate and grateful. Winning is such a nice feeling,” she said.
As for winning such a huge amount at such a young age, she laughed and described the experience as “unreal.”
In fact, “it’s pretty crazy if you ask me!”
