Hamilton man charged with murder after body found in rural area

A 20-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Jessica Lynn St. Jules, 27, of Hamilton, after her body was discovered in a rural area of Lincoln last month.
The Niagara Regional Police Service Homicide Unit arrested and charged Pedro Benitez Leal on Tuesday.
Police say at 3:10 p.m. on June 8 officers were called to the area of Nineteenth St. and Seventh Ave. in Lincoln following the report of a deceased female.
Investigators determined St. Jules, known to have connections in the Hamilton and Halton area, was last seen getting into a vehicle around 4:20 a.m. that day near the Hamilton Public Library at 571 Barton St. E.
The vehicle was described as a 2018-2020 Dodge Grand Caravan, granite in colour.
Further review of CCTV footage identified a male driver with a larger build wearing a distinctive red top with a white stripe.
He was seen driving a 2018-2020 Dodge Grand Caravan, “Premium Plus SXT” in the Barton St. area in the early morning hours of June 8.
