The province announced the first case late Saturday, a man in his 50s who had returned from Wuhan, China earlier that week.
The man had just returned from visiting Wuhan — the epicentre of the outbreak and went from having a mild cough when he arrived to being hospitalized a day later.
His wife became the second case, confirmed on Monday, but only has mild symptoms and is recovering in isolation at home.

Dr. David Williams, the province’s chief medical officer, said Monday that people should not be alarmed at the number of people under investigation.

“One, assess what is the clinical state? What is their travel history? Does it fit the case definition — yes or no? Next, what kind of tests will they run? A battery of viral tests of common ones that are circulating at this time,” Williams said.
