“Oh yeah, definitely,” said Eddie Radionov of Toronto Sunday afternoon at Yonge/Dundas Square, the scene of some of the biggest Raptors celebrations on Saturday night.

“They’re the only Canadian team in the NBA so yeah, (you’ve) got to go with Team Canada. I really feel like we’re going to win. The team’s killing it, to be honest. They’re passing. They’re shooting. They’ve been doing well.”
The Raps will begin their quest for basketball’s top prize on Thursday night at Scotiabank Arena against the defending champions the Golden State Warriors.
Game 2 is also at home on Sunday.
Whitby, Ont., resident Nirmala Harriversad, wearing a Raptors T-shirt on Sunday at Eaton Centre, said there shouldn’t be any doubters about Toronto’s ability to win the championship.
“Of course, we (can) do (it),” she said.

“If we can make it through to the NBA (finals) which we haven’t done before, anything is possible. I’ve seen them evolve. And looking at them play (Saturday) night and the last couple of games that they’ve won, they’ve tweaked their strategy to suit what they’re playing against. So when it comes to the Warriors, I’m sure that they have a strategy and a game plan.”

New Canadian resident Tom McCormack of England said the team has come into its own this season and can seal the deal against the Warriors.
“I think it’s to do with (star player) Kawhi (Leonard),” said McCormack, who moved here nine months ago.
“Kawhi’s a real superstar and I hope he stays. I think it’s to do with (veteran Kyle) Lowry. Lowry’s kind of come into his own as a leader within the group.”
