Toronto man wanted for 2024 shooting in Waterloo

A Toronto man is wanted by authorities in Waterloo following gunfire inside a business last year.

Waterloo Regional Police said officers responded to reports of a shooting at a King St. N. and University Ave. W. business on the evening of May 18, 2024.

“Through investigation, police determined that a disturbance occurred while suspects were inside the business and shots were fired,” cops said in an update to the investigation.

Jalen Belle-McCormack, 20, is wanted on a warrant in relation to the shooting.

He is accused of careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited weapon, pointing a firearm, two counts of failing to comply with a judicial order, and breaching probation.

Cops said the suspect is known to frequent the Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton.
