The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after the shooting deaths of two women and a man in Huntsville on Friday night.
Ontario Provincial Police say responded to a home around 9 p.m. after a man barricaded himself inside.
The man claimed he had harmed two family members in the home and that he was also in possession of weapons, the SIU said Saturday.
The OPP sent a team of crisis negotiators and the Emergency Response Team.
Officers set up a perimeter around the home and spoke to the man over the phone.
When that communication stopped, a drone was sent into the home and the bodies of two dead women were located, as was the body of a dead man, the SIU said.
