Police have two 18-year-olds in custody in connection with a spate of rock-throwing incidents last year that seriously injured two people.
The Sept. 20 incident, which happened in Markham on Hwy. 48, resulted in a serious crash which sent two people to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Other incidents involved a damaged windshield on an occupied city bus on Hwy. 48 near Major Mackenzie Dr.
Last year, the OPP said they’d received 11 separate reports of rocks being thrown at vehicles along Hwy. 48 between Sept. 20 and Nov. 12 — with York police having investigated nine additional cases.

On Wednesday, police arrested two 18-year-olds in connection with the investigation, charging the pair with aggravated assault, mischief damage to property and mischief endangering life.
As the accused were underage at the time, their identities cannot be released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
