The gut-busting scene drew groans from the crowd, the New York Post reported, before the unnamed contestant was escorted off the stage.
“I’m honestly surprised there isn’t puke everywhere at the end of these things,” one X user said in response to a video of the spewfest posted on X.
“The ol’ reversal of fortune!” another response said.

The event also saw a new Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest winner crowned after longtime champ Joey Chesnutt was banned from competing due to a dispute over vegan hotdogs.
Chicago’s Patrick Bertoletti captured the Mustard Belt by barrelling through 58 franks and buns in the competition’s self-described “10 minutes to glory.” Chestnut, who had won the last eight events and 16 of the last 17, set the record of 71 hotdogs eaten in 2021.
New York City’s Miki Sudo, who won her 10th women’s title in the last 11 events, set a gender division record by downing 51 dogs.
