Christopher Durand, interim CEO of the transit agency, said the deer ran into the front of the bus and crashed through the glass, which startled some passengers.
In the video, bus driver Leocadio Hernandez barely reacts while driving along his route.
Six people were on the bus, the Warwick Police Department said. Two passengers had minor injuries from the broken glass and were taken to hospital, while a third went to hospital on their own to receive treatment.
A police officer with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management arrived at the scene and declared the deer dead.
Durand praised Hernandez for his “exemplary response to this unique situation.

One person commenting on the video posted to YouTube called the deer’s death “heartbreaking” and recommended deer whistles be installed on buses if the animals are known to frequent the area.
“It’s a very sad situation. The deer whistles do seem to work. I wish they would make them mandatory on all vehicles where deer are known to be.”
