However, she was almost half an hour late for the call.

Outerbridge told WWJ that she had “multiple court dates” to remember and when called in to get the Zoom number, she was told that she was “supposed to be there right now.”

Outerbridge logged in at 9:22 a.m., but the judge was tired of waiting and put her on hold for more than two hours, prompting the woman to admit to the outlet that she “forgot he was on the phone.”

In the time she was waiting for the judge, Outerbridge had put on a robe and was making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for her three-year-old daughter, who was home sick, when Judge Perkins chose that moment to get back on the call.

“Put whatever you are trying to prepare down,” Perkins said to Outerbridge, adding that she should get “properly dressed.”

When she replied that she was properly dressed, he asked incredulously, “Is that a robe?”

The single mother told the judge she was trying to feed her daughter.

“My daughter is sick I had to keep her home from school I’m just trying to feed her. That is it.”

Perkins responded, “I am sorry that your daughter is sick but again you are in court, and we are going to treat it as such.”

Outerbridge admitted to the outlet that she “definitely was wrong.”

“I could have came dressed better and more prepared, and I don’t want to judge to think that I’m laughing at the situation at him because I’m not,” she said.

“I take that very seriously, I do genuinely, with a serious face, apologize to the judge,” she said, facing the camera.

Outerbridge explained: “I’m a personal stylist, so I know how to present myself, but that day, you know, it’s hard for moms out here! I’m not gonna lie.”

She added: “You don’t want to do that, that’s not a good idea.”
