Wanting to honour their faith in God, devout Christians David and Holley Snow kept a copy of the holy book opened at their favourite verse as concrete was poured for the foundation of their eatery, according to a Facebook post.
“We opened the Bible to Joshua 1:9 — a verse that has stuck with our operator and his family through all their endeavours,” read a recent post on the franchise’s social media page.
Quoting the verse, it read: “‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.'”
Several Facebook users, however, didn’t appreciate the virtuous message, Britain’s The Mirror reported.
“Seems like the kind of action that would have got you burned at the stake in the 1600s,” one person commented.

“What a weird way to cast a spell on a building,” added another.
While not all comments were negative, the post was later removed.
According to ChurchLeaders.com, the owner’s four-year-old son laid the Bible in the restaurant’s foundation while the couple were in the hospital with their daughter who has Down syndrome.
Chick-fil-A, a chain best known for their chicken sandwiches, has never been shy of promoting its Christian values, which were essential to its founder, S. Truett Cathy.
“To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A,” reads the mission statement on the restaurant’s website.
