The card features the first photo of their daughter, Lilibet Diana, who was born on June 4, as well as her big brother, Archie, who hasn’t been seen in a while. He’s gotten so big! And his hair is as ginger as his dad’s but thick and luscious like his mom’s.
And even though we only see the sides of their faces – Harry, Meghan and Archie smiling away as Meghan hoists a laughing Lili in the air – it’s evident that life is good for the Sussexes.
The photo was taken by Alexi Lubomirski, at the family’s Santa Barbara, Calif., home.
“This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world,” reads the sentiment on the card, which was released on Thursday and first shared with Team Rubicon, an organization that Harry and Meghan used to support. “Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa,’ and Lili made us a family.”

It continued: “As we look forward to 2022, we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honour and protect families – from those being relocated from Afghanistan, to American families in need of paid parental leave.”
Harry and Meghan list a number of organizations that received donations from their Archewell Foundation including Paid Leave for All, PL+US, and the Marshall Plan for Moms, which are lobbying Congress to pass a federal paid family leave law, reported Bloomberg News.
The foundation also donated to Team Rubicon, Welcome.Us, the Human First Coalition, and Humanity Crew, all of which have worked to settle Afghan refugees into the U.S., as well as help with refugees’ mental health.

We're grateful to Archewell Foundation and Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their support of our efforts to welcome Afghan families to the US. This generous donation will help the transition of families into new communities. https://t.co/vBKyU92YoFpic.twitter.com/H0DqCvJuZd
Paid parental leave is a cause Meghan has been backing, despite royals normally not sticking their noses in political issues, while Afghan resettlement is important to both her and Harry.
It’s the Sussexes’ second Christmas in California, as COVID has impacted the Royal Family’s typical holiday traditions – presuming they were intending to travel across the pond to see Harry’s relatives.
As Queen Elizabeth prepares to celebrate her first Christmas without Prince Philip, she received another blow with her daughter, Princess Anne, and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, in isolation after he tested positive for COVID.
But the Queen won’t be alone. She will spending Christmas Day with Prince Charles and Camilla, Clarence House confirmed to the BBC. All three will spend Dec. 25 in Windsor and not head to Sandringham.
The palace said it was a personal decision and “reflects a precautionary approach.”
