Fontana, 45, had used a fake profile to lure Carol Maltesi, 26, to her doom.
While filming a sexual encounter, Fontana freaked out and began bashing Maltesi in the head with a hammer at least 13 times. While she was tied up, he stabbed her in the throat.
And then he cruelly cut the pretty brunette’s body into pieces, storing her remains in a freezer he purchased from Amazon, the Italian newspaper La Stampa reports. He had previously tried to incinerate her remains at his rental home.

Eventually, he tossed the remains stuffed into garbage bags off a cliff about two hours northwest of Milan, Italy. After Maltesi’s disappearance, Fontana impersonated her on the phone and lied to her loved ones that she was travelling.

Her remains were found on March 21, 2022, two months after she was murdered.
Fontana was convicted of aggravated voluntary homicide and suppression and concealment of a corpse in 2023 and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
But in late May, an Italian Court of Appeal reviewed Fontana’s sentence. Now, the sentence has been bumped up to life in prison.

La Stampa and L’Unione Sarda reported that the court considered the vile premeditation involved in the murder plot.
Fontana had become upset with Maltesi after learning she had plans to move to Veneto, roughly 250 km east of Milan, to be with her 6-year-old son.
During his resentencing hearing, Fontana addressed Maltesi’s now 8-year-old son and her grieving parents.
“I would like to apologize again to everyone, especially to Carol’s parents and to the son,” Fontana said, according to an English translation of the local report. “I don’t know if I will ever be forgiven for what I have done. I would really give my life to go back.”

Meanwhile, a Miami OnlyFans model charged in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend in 2022 wants Miami-Dade prosecutors removed from the case. Courtney Clenney’s legal eagles claim prosecutors accessed privileged communications.
Already, one prosecutor has resigned from the case. Now, the raunchy model wants the whole office removed.
The State Attorney’s office argued that the whole office should not be punished for one prosecutor’s misdeeds. A ruling is expected this month.
Clenney, 29, is charged with second-degree murder in the April 2022 stabbing death of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, 27, at the couple’s Miami condo.
