An account that appears to belong to Councilwoman Victoria Parks commented on one Facebook post sharing the horrific brawl: “They begged for that beat down!”

She added: “I am grateful for the whole story.”

The comment links back to a Facebook account for Parks, whose job title is listed as “City Council Member at City of Cincinnati Government.”

The account also notes former roles including Hamilton County Commissioner (which also has its own Facebook account), as well as former chief of staff to the county’s retired commissioner Todd Portune.

Parks has been a council member since 2022 and is currently “President Pro Tem,” “championing initiatives like declaring Racism as a Public Health Crisis and establishing Juneteenth as a paid holiday in Hamilton County,” according to Parks’ biography on the City of Cincinnati’s official website.

Screenshots of Parks’ apparent Facebook comments have been widely shared, as well as photos of the female victim, Holly.

“Cincinnati is an amazing and spectacular city. It deserves political leadership that matches the greatness of its citizens,” Republican Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno wrote on X, alongside post-attack photos of Holly and Parks’ comments.

He then went on to bash local politicians’ response, and noted Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Purebal’s “late/weak statement,” pointed out how Police Chief Teresa Theetge blamed social media, “not the lack of almost 200 officers,” for the response, how Hamilton County’s prosecuting attorney Connie Pillich “lets off lowlifes with $400 bail” and that Congressman Greg Landsman “blames the victim.”

“This is Holly,” Moreno said of the victim, who gave him permission to share the photos, “so that others will never suffer what she did.”

He continued: “She wanted to have a nice evening out with friends. Instead, she got this.”

Moreno added: “We need and deserve change.”

Ohio’s 39th District State Rep. Phil Plummer said on X: “Cincinnati Councilwoman Victoria Parks must resign immediately! Defending violent criminals who viciously beat innocent people is disgusting.”

Plummer added: “Her words ‘They begged for that beat down!’ are outrageous. Prosecutors must charge the attackers with a hate crime. We must protect our streets!”

“It’s unconscionable that an elected official would be celebrating violence in the very city she was voted to serve,” Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police President Ken Kober told Fox News.

“This highlights the poor political environment that police officers, residents and visitors are currently enduring. Thankfully, there’s an election in November. I urge voters to vote for change!”

In January, Parks announced that she would not seek reelection and will retire after her current term ends.

Parks has not publicly commented on her remarks.
