'DADDY OWES YOU': Biden tells kids he knows where to get ice cream

U.S. President Joe Biden made an off-the-cuff remark about where children can get ice cream that some have called creepy.

The president spoke Wednesday afternoon in front of an audience at the White House on the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act.

He was introduced to the stage by Scott Strazik, the CEO of energy company GE Vernova, who said his children were in the audience.

“When America innovates, the world wins,” Strazik said. “So on behalf of our GE Vernova employees, on behalf of my nine-year-old daughter and my 11-year-old son I’m thankful to have here today, and their generation — because that’s why we’re doing this work — I want to thank the President.”

Biden received a round of applause from the audience before he went off-script.

“I want to say one thing to your children,” Biden said. “I know some really great ice cream places around here and daddy owes you, so talk to me afterwards.”

Some found the comments creepy.

“If he was 40 and not 80 do you think the Left would still defend Joe Biden’s routinely creepy uncle shtick?” one person shared on social media site X.

Another commenter added that they wouldn’t let their daughter near the president.

“His creepy touching and smelling little girls hair. It’s always seemed he (can’t) keep his hands off females.”

Even Ted Cruz, the U.S. Senator from Texas, reposted the clip and used the hashtag “#StrangerDanger.”

In recent times, Biden has been criticized for his awkward interactions, which includes pretending to gobble up a girl and then sniffed her at an airport during a July trip to Finland, and for making a creepy comment to a female Finnish reporter in Helsinki following a NATO summit in Lithuania in which he said, “You can’t tell me whether you’re going to be able to go home tonight. No one can be sure what they’re going to do.”
