‘EVERYBODY MAKES MISTAKES:’ Teen sucker-punched strangers for TikTok attention

A teenager is defending himself after he admitted to randomly punching people in a Texas park, prompting police to launch an investigation.

Alford Lewis, 19, was caught on camera walking on a trail at a Houston park where he attacked at least two people, KHOU reported.

Once footage was shared on Nextdoor, a neighbourhood watch app, to try to identify the suspect, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office got involved.

Lewis has come forwarded about the attacks.

“You know, I just made a mistake and everybody makes mistakes,” the teen told the outlet, after he was confronted outside his home.

Lewis confessed he did it for likes and views on his TikTok and YouTube channels.

“I really didn’t expect for it to go so left, you know,” he said.

Video shows his victims more shocked about being hit, with no one fighting back against Lewis.

It’s unclear if any of the victims are pressing charges against Lewis, the outlet reported.

“It’s a nice quiet neighbourhood, so I’m a little surprised that someone’s brazen to come up and hit somebody without warning or without reason,” one unnamed resident who often walks in the park told KHOU.

However, Lewis claimed the viral video only shows the “bad part” of his actions, not what took place after the sucker punches.

“What people don’t see is that I shook his hand after and gave the man a hug,” he claimed.

Lewis’ parents were disappointed by his behaviour after they learned he was responsible for the attacks at the park near their home.

Lewis even had some advice to others who are considering Lewis is some sort of social media-attracting role model.

“Before you go out and do anything you feel is bad, or that could look bad, make sure, like, people know – or just don’t do it at all,” he said.
