The second week of the Ghislaine Maxwell sex trafficking trial in New York City wrapped up with whatever was left of the British socialite’s reputation circling the drain. She is charged with eight counts of sex trafficking and separate perjury charges.
The 59-year-old has pleaded not guilty and denies any wrongdoing.
But you are judged by the company you keep and Maxwell’s longtime companion was the creepy billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Together, the pair allegedly enjoyed a luxe life of love, laughs and Lolitas.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Maxwell was again pummelled by prosecutors. One woman — named Kate — testified that Maxwell encouraged her to give Epstein sexual massages at his Palm Beach mansion. The accused even put out a schoolgirl outfit for her and told the then-teen it would be “fun,” court heard.

Later, after she’d been sexually assaulted, Maxwell allegedly told the 17-year-old: “You are such a good girl.”

Another witness named Carolyn detailed how she was sexually abused by Epstein, starting when she was 14 years old. That first time, Virginia Roberts massaged Epstein for 45 minutes, and then mounted the twisted hedge fund manager for sex. They were paid “hundreds of dollars.”
Carolyn told court she returned hundreds of times and that Maxwell touched her breasts.
The socialite’s lawyer accused Carolyn of “inconsistencies.”
On Friday, alleged victim Annie Farmer testified how she met Maxwell and Epstein in 1996. According to her testimony, Farmer’s abuse began with caresses — then escalated. At his New Mexico ranch, the then 16-year-old believed their would be other students around, instead it was Epstein and Maxwell.

She said Maxwell wanted to massage her. The British former it-girl allegedly asked the teen to strip down to nothing. Farmer testified: “She pulled the sheet down and exposed my breasts and started rubbing on my chest and on my upper breasts.” The next night, Epstein climbed into bed with her for a cuddle.

THE PROSECUTION
Prosecutors called two more alleged victims to the stand, where they recalled the alleged horrors visited upon them by Epstein and Maxwell. In addition, the prosecution continued to paint the publishing heiress as crucial to Epstein’s machinations and referred to the pair as “partners in crime.”
THE DEFENCE
Blame Epstein. Are you sure that’s the way things happened? Maxwell’s defence team continued to point the finger at Epstein and tried to point out inconsistencies in the alleged victims’ stories. Nothing seemed to stick.

Rich girl Maxwell kicks back on a yacht. US DEPT. OF JUSTICE
CASH BABY!
The hard-done-by heiress owned her own $15-million New York City home, courtesy of Epstein. Oh, and a banker from JPMorgan Chase, testified that Epstein transferred $30.7 million to Maxwell between 1999 and 2007. Prosecutors claim that the money “goes to motive” for Maxwell’s alleged role in the sex trafficking apparatus.

TIGER BEAT: “OH JEFFY!”
One document found on a hard drive in Epstein’s Big Apple mansion and created by a “GMax” (hmmmm) sounds like something from teen mag favourite Tiger Beat (dreamy). To whit: “Jeffrey and Ghislaine have been together as a couple for the last 11 years. They are, contrary to what people think, rarely apart, I almost always see them together.”
Why, Ghislaine is “highly intelligent and great company with a ready smile and an infectious laugh. Jeffrey and Ghislaine share many mutual interests and they have a lot of fun together. They complement each other really well. On top of being partners, they are also best of friends.” YUCK!

THOSE PHOTOS!
The U.S. Dept. of Justice released a slew of stomach-churning photos of Epstein and Maxwell. There were photos of Maxwell rubbing the pedo’s feet on the Lolita Express, the couple at the Queen’s estate in Balmoral, Scotland, and countless other snapshots of a devoted couple.
WHAT’S NEXT?
The prosecution has concluded its case. This week, Ghislaine Maxwell begins the fight of her life.
