United States President Joe Biden sure took his time making his way to the third day of the NATO summit.
So much so that it appeared to annoy Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Thursday morning as she and other international dignitaries waited for Biden and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg to appear at the summit.
Captured on video while speaking to Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Meloni dramatically rolled her eyes and looked at the ceiling before pointing to her wrist, where a watch didn’t rest, while waiting for Biden to arrive as time rolled past the meeting’s 10 a.m. start time.

Minutes later, Meloni rolled her eyes again as someone pulled out their phone to check the time before she noticed cameras focused on her. It’s not known what Meloni and her fellow world leaders were chatting about.
Biden and Stoltenberg rolled up to the summit 40 minutes late, with the president of the United States leaving the White House some 20 minutes after the meeting’s 10 a.m. start time, the New York Post reported.
After Biden arrived, Meloni appeared uncomfortable when the president went in for a kiss and a handshake as he greeted her.
Apparently it’s not the first time Meloni was annoyed by Biden this year.
In May, during the G7 meeting in Italy, Biden was the last of the world leaders to arrive. He then awkwardly saluted her when she welcomed him onstage.
“You shouldn’t leave a woman waiting like this,” Meloni reportedly told Biden, per New York Post.
Later at the G7 meeting, the Italian PM had to bring Biden back to a skydiving demonstration after he wandered off and missed the action.
