L.A. Lakers' LeBron James and son Bronny sued over 2022 car crash

LeBron James is used to winning on the basketball court, but the NBA superstar will be facing a different type of court it seems.

Just hours before King James and his son, Bronny, made history with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, a lawsuit was filed against the two over their alleged roles in a 2022 car crash.

Court documents obtained by TMZ showed the suit was filed by two plaintiffs in Los Angeles County against the father and son duo.

In the suit, April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen allege they were driving on a highway on Nov. 13, 2022, in Littlerock, Calif. when LeBron and Bronny slammed into them.

Lopez and McGillen stated in the document they suffered injuries that require further medical attention and also that the car they were driving was damaged and has lost value due to the wreck.

They’re suing the two NBA players for unspecified damages.

TMZ reached out to the plaintiffs’ attorney for comment but hasn’t received a response while the Jameses have not publicly addressed the matter.

The James duo became the first father-son tandem to play together in a regular-season NBA game.

LeBron, 39, is playing in his record-tying 22nd season while Bronny, 20, was making his NBA debut after the Lakers drafted him in the second round earlier this year.

The Lakers won their opener 110-103 over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com arena. LeBron scored 16 points with five rebounds and four assists in the victory while Bronny was held scoreless on two shots in the three minutes he was on the floor.

After the game, LeBron posted on Instagram that checking into the game was a moment he’ll never forget.

“NEVER FORGET THAT MOMENT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE,” he captioned a clip with highlights from the game.
