'LET'S OPEN THOSE LEGS': PETA releases sexually suggestive Thanksgiving cartoon

PETA and controversy go hand-in-hand. 

This time around, the animal rights group known as the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is being blasted online after releasing a Thanksgiving cartoon that features a couple stuffing a turkey while making sexually suggestive comments.

The cartoon, which PETA shared on social media Tuesday, shows a couple stuffing a turkey for Thanksgiving as their children watched in horror in the background.

“Let’s open those legs …” the father says.

“And stuff it … all the way,” the mother retorts, as their children shout “Ew!” and “Gross!” in the background.

“When you say it out loud, it’s clear this ‘norm’ isn’t normal,” PETA captioned the cartoon.

While the organization thinks the sexually suggestive cartoon may drive people to go vegan for Thanksgiving, it actually grossed them out instead, with some accusing PETA of sexualizing a family meal.

“Sexualizing food is weird,” one commented on Instagram.

“Seriously wtf,” another chimed.

“No one is talking like that peta, ur the one making it sound worse and the artwork makes it look much worse,” another stated.

Some claimed the cartoon actually makes them want to eat meat more.

“Can’t wait to eat turkey, ham, chicken, and baby back ribs tomorrow!” one said.

“And imma do it (eat meat) anyway,” another stated.

The turkey has been the target of PETA campaigns this week as Americans celebrated Thanksgiving on Thursday. Earlier in the week, Butterball was targetted online by trolls after a PETA investigation showed animal abuse inside the poultry company’s factory via recorded footage that’s two decades old.

The video, which showed the torture of turkeys, caused people to troll Butterball’s social media pages demanding the company own up to the abuse.
