A travel influencer who has called for airlines to give larger passengers extra seats for free has a new demand for the hospitality industry: install railings in all pools.
Jae’lynn Chaney shared a video of herself in a Hawaii hotel pool that begins with her carefully getting into the water.
“Accessibility isn’t optional,” the voiceover in the TikTok clip says. “Make handrails mandatory at all pools for swimmers of every size and ability.”
She continued: “Without handrails, we’re excluding so many from enjoying pools safely. It’s time to ensure everyone can swim with confidence.”
Chaney reiterated, “Demand mandatory handrails now,” and added in her caption, “Demand accessibility for all” because no pool rails is “not inclusive.”

The influencer’s video has garnered more than 48,000 views.
Chaney has turned off comments on her social media accounts due to previous backlash she has received, despite having hundreds of thousands of followers.
Chaney shares her plus-size travel struggles on her platforms, calling out the alleged discrimination and lack of inclusivity in the industry.
A recent video of Chaney’s challenged ride share companies to ensure their drivers make seat belt extenders available for plus-size passengers.
“Every time I use a ride share, I’m forced to go without a seatbelt because no belt extenders are available. This is a common issue for many plus-size individuals,” she shared.
“This isn’t just inconvenient — it’s unsafe,” Chaney continued. “It should be mandatory for ride shares to provide at least one seatbelt extender per vehicle.”
She also previously suggested that hotels widen their hallways and demanded that plus-size fliers should be given extra seats at no additional cost.
In 2023, Southwest Airlines obliged and was celebrated for its inclusion policy that allows “passengers of size” to request one or two seats, for free — depending on their needs.
