Donald Trump shared a meme mocking Joe Biden following the U.S. president’s flub involving Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s name at the NATO summit in Washington.
Ahead of Thursday’s news conference, Biden wrongly referred to Ukraine’s leader as Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also called Vice President Kamala Harris “Vice President Trump” early in the questioning.
“Now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination,” Biden said. “Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin!”
After realizing the mistake, Biden corrected himself.
“President Putin. We’re going to beat President Putin. President Zelenskyy. I’m so focused on beating Putin. We’ve got to worry about it. Anyway, Mr. President.”
On Friday, Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee and former president, posted to his Truth Social account a three-panel image that included a fictional Wheel Of Fortune clue. The topic was “Ukraine President” and several letters of Zelensky’s last name revealed.
The second panel pictured contestant Biden yelling the answer, “Putin!” The third panel featured Trump, retired Wheel Of Fortune host Pat Sajak and Goodfellas actor Ray Liotta all laughing hysterically.
The post, which originated from a pro-Trump X account that was uploaded Thursday night, was shared widely on social media, including the Libs of TikTok account.
Biden has been the focus of a wide range of Democratic Party and celebrity voices who want the president to stop his re-election campaign following a disastrous presidential debate against Trump late last month.
The party is in turmoil as concerns over the 81-year-old president’s age and whether he is in cognitive decline have ignited a firestorm of opinions.
Biden has repeatedly vowed to stay in the race.
