During Hello! magazine’s Right Royal podcast — hosted Emily Griffiths and Andrea Caamano, along with guests Emily Nash, Hello!’s royals editor, and Matt Wilkinson, the royals editor of the U.K. Sun — where the topic of Meghan’s kids on the former actress’ Instagram feed came up.
“My understanding of this is that, up to a certain stage, Harry would much rather his children were not seen,” Wilkinson said of the couple’s kids, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.
“He doesn’t want them to be papped,” he continued.
“He’s got this idea that if he takes them outside of Montecito, there’s a horde of us out there trying to take pictures of his kids. They’re not, by the way!”

Wilkinson said that Markle, on the other hand, “grew up in California, and once said she would like to have a more California-style lifestyle, take them down the beach, go out, do stuff. She doesn’t want to hide them away.”
He noted: “We’ve seen this more and more with the use of Lilibet and Archie.”
Notably, Meghan ensures the kids’ faces aren’t shown when she includes them, such as shooting them from behind.
In February, the ex-Suits star released a picture of her and her daughter when she launched the website for her new lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Last month, Meghan shared a photo from behind of her holding Lilibet in one arm while she wrapped her other arm around Archie’s head as he locked onto her leg.

While the panel discussed the possibility of Archie and Lilibet getting snapped when they are older, Wilkinson theorized that Harry has the mindset of how things were when he was a child but noted how “the media landscape has shifted.”
Wilkinson said: “You could argue that Meghan isn’t exploiting the children, she’s just … well maybe she is exploiting them, but she’s using them to display her brand. She’s a mother. A homemaker and cooking at home.”
Wilkinson noted how in one episode of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, she preps for an extravagant children’s party but doesn’t show any kids during the program.
“I don’t particularly mind her putting pictures of the children up,” Wilkinson said, but added, “I think Harry probably is not overly happy.”
What’s the saying, though? Happy wife, happy life.
Meghan’s show has already been renewed for a second season and all items on the As Ever website are currently sold out, so she might be onto something.
