Shortly after Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor entered the world on June 4, she had what may be the most important meeting of her entire life: Meeting her great-grandmother and namesake, Queen Elizabeth.
But because Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie and now Lili live in America, the big introduction took place on a video call. See — royals are just like us!
A source told People magazine that Harry and Meghan “were very excited and couldn’t wait to share that their daughter arrived” so as soon as they got home, they fired up the laptop.

As for Harry’s father, Prince Charles, it’s unknown whether he and Duchess Camilla also got the same virtual treatment. During an appearance on Tuesday, Charles spoke out publicly for the first time about becoming a grandfather for the fifth time.
People reports that in his speech about innovation and sustainability at BMW’s Mini factory in the Cowley neighbourhood of Oxford in England, the Prince of Wales said, “The development of technology like electric vehicles, or green hydrogen for that matter for heavy transport, is vital for maintaining the health of our world for future generations, something I am only too aware of today, having recently become a grandfather for the fifth time.”

The royal environmental activist added, “Such happy news really does remind one of the necessity of continued innovation in this area — especially around sustainable battery technology — in view of the legacy we bequeath to our grandchildren.”
Harry will be back in the U.K. for the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue at Kensington Palace, but Meghan, Archie and Lili joining him seems unlikely.
The annual Christmas celebration in Sandringham could be the perfect place for a family reunion — COVID-19 restrictions permitting, of course. Enough time will have gone by for a royal reset, no?
