A South Carolina man who won $100,000 on a Powerball ticket is giving credit where credit is due: TV network TLC.

The winner from Lowcountry, whose identity remains unknown, “decided to try an experiment after watching an episode of Lottery Changed My Life,” according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.
He thought he only matched two numbers but when his wife took a look at the ticket, she noticed the Powerball number.

Upon closer examination, they realized five of his numbers matched, just one short of winning the May 28 jackpot.
But because he spent the extra $1 for PowerPlay, what would’ve been a $50,000 prize was doubled when a “2” multiplier was drawn, according to the press release.
