Subway franchisees want to give U.S. soccer star Rapinoe the boot

U.S. women’s soccer player Megan Rapinoe – who showed her best sore loser side after her team’s loss to Canada and was slammed by Trump who claimed her team was a group of “left-wing maniacs” that lost because they were too woke – got her third strike last week.

A group of Subway franchisees want her out as a spokesperson because she alienates customers. That alienation came after her national anthem protests during the Olympic Games.

“We are so politically divided in this country and Subway should have done more careful due diligence, without a doubt, before choosing (Rapinoe),” John Gordon, of Pacific Management Consulting Group, said in a statement.

Too bad, so sad.

‘World’s sexiest athlete’ bids farewell to Olympic Games

Alica Schmidt didn’t win any Olympic medals as part of Germany track and field team, but she quickly became a fan favourite, adored and lusted after by many who didn’t know of her before Tokyo.

She’s gorgeous, has legs for days, and can outrun most of us with one of those long, lean legs tied behind her back. What more is there to say?

Maple Leafs dust Imoo after social-media activity comes to light

The Leafs organization hired, then two days later fired Dusty Imoo as the Marlies’ goaltending coach after a deep dive into his Twitter account uncovered past favourites and retweets of transphobic, anti-Black and anti-vaxxer sentiments, as well as his support of the Capitol Hill riots and unfounded U.S. government conspiracy theories.

Imoo has since deleted his Twitter account but that ickiness will be forever remembered.

Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer reportedly dating

Friends fans everywhere swooned after reports surfaced that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer were an item.

Despite all the “chemistry” they share, our dreams were dashed when Schwimmer himself shot down the dating rumours.

So, Rachel and Ross may be each other’s lobsters but Jen and Dave, not so much. Could we BE any more disappointed?

HONOURABLE MENTION: The week’s fifth place finisher is all about international passengers being left on planes – sometimes for hours – at Pearson Airport due to COVID capacity limits and new restrictions.

Thankfully some changes have been made to improve/expedite the processes, including orders to keep air-conditioning systems function after planes get to their respective gates.

Because if you’ve ever been on a plane where the AC isn’t working, you know that only fuels all the bad feelings like anger, annoyance, frustration and, oh, did we mention, anger?

No one has tried to kick out any plane windows – that we know of, at least.
