A report suggests older brother Prince William could decide to remove “His/Her Royal Highness” from Harry and Meghan once he succeeds their 76-year-old dad, Charles, and becomes king.
The news comes at a time when Meghan recently shared a message to Instagram from Ukraine’s Vice President Yulia Svyrydenko that saw her addressed as “Your Royal Highness.”
“I would like to express my sincere thanks for everything your family is doing for Ukraine,” Svyrydenko wrote.
When Harry and Meghan stepped away from their roles with the Royal Family, the couple agreed not to use “HRH” in a deal that didn’t see them formally stripped of their titles.
But according to one friend of William, that may change when the time comes for him to ascend the throne.

“William has been given a great deal of influence on all areas of royal policy, but that cuts both ways and he respects his father’s rank,” the friend told The Daily Beast.
“Charles has a softly-softly attitude to Harry and Meghan, and so that’s the policy for now, but the gloves will be off when he inherits the throne. If they started using the HRH titles on a regular basis, he would take them away for good.”
Another friend revealed that Prince William, 42, wants to deal with his 40-year-old brother, who wrote a tell-all book of his family, “more harshly.”
“It’s no secret William wants Harry more harshly dealt with. He thinks he has betrayed the family from top to bottom, which is the ultimate Windsor crime. It wouldn’t take much to provoke him to flex his muscles when he is king.”
A friend of King Charles spoke of his current relaxed attitude toward Harry and Meghan.
“Charles isn’t going to open a new front in the civil war on the basis of one Instagram post, and it’s not as if they are calling themselves HRH. I think everyone is pretty clear, at this stage, what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s position in the family is.”
