Brown shared on his social media an old private text from Brady in which the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback accused him of being “selfish” and scolded him for losing his “humanity.”
The text message was originally sent on May 10, 2021, eight months before Brown removed his shoulder pads and jersey, ran across the end zone and headed to the team’s locker room midway through the third quarter of a game the Bucs would eventually win.
“You are demonstrating very poor decision and poor communication to so many people who have gone above and beyond to help you,” began the text, which Brown shared on Snapchat, according to the Daily Mail.

If the text message is genuine, it’s unclear what Brady was referring to at the time, but in May 2021, the teammates were Super Bowl winners and seemed to be doing just fine. So the context of Brady’s concerning message to Brown remains unknown.
“You are acting selfish and unfortunately many of those people are exhausted by the erratic and unpredictable emotional behavior,” Brady continued.
“When I met you, you were humble, willing to learn and anxious to improve things in your life,” he recounted. “In a short period of time, you have done those things and accomplished some great things. And very much on the path to success long term.”

Brady then referred to how Brown had changed.
“Unfortunately you have reverted very much back to the immature man that is selfish, self serving, irrational and irresponsible,” he said. “I for one, am disappointed in many behaviors over the past few months. You have seemed to have lost that humility and that APG,” apparently referencing the phrase “all praise God.”
Brady added: “You have gone from hanging around good quality people that had genuine interest in seeing you succeed, to seeing others whose lives are erratic and out of control and leading you down a negative path.”
On May 13, 2021, however, Brown shared a photo of the two men on the field with their arms around each other, as well as many others of the pair during the rest of the year.
