I urge you to stay so you can’t blame the defeat on the lack of Liberal Party support or on the faults of your successor

Dear The Right Honourable.

It certainly would aggravate even a normal person to hear, day in and day out, that the large majority of the population wants to see the hind end of you as you exit — and fast.

And even though you are by no means normal, it must gall your supersized ego.

Hence this letter.

I am writing to beg you to stay in office, until the last day possible, which would be in November of 2025.

I know that you will agree with me, because it is a whole lot better to be in office than in Opposition — keep the staff, the jets, the increasing long, fast, cavalcades of SUVs meant to impress us commoners, the international trips, until they are wrested from your gnarled, defeated fingers.

Did I say defeat? Yes — guaranteed!

Not because, as many of your paid journalists argue, you are unpopular just due to the fact of having been at the job for nine years.

But guaranteed because you are wholly responsible for the worst government in Canadian history, that has imposed unnecessary hardship upon millions of Canadians from all walks of life, and damaged Canadian society almost beyond repair.

From your high taxation, to your refusal to allow Canadians to make a great living from selling LNG, to your woke fixation on teenage gender selection without parental knowledge, to your declaring Canada to be “an open country” allowing untold numbers (admit it — you don’t know the numbers) of unnecessary visitors to take up residency here, to your refusal to deal with interference from foreign powers at the highest levels of your government, to your permissive attitude to those who constantly threaten to kill others for their own tribal reasons, to embarrassing Canada around the world by declaring us guilty of genocide (as you bend on one knee with a teddy bear) — the list is long.

The historians are already having a field day documenting your disastrous and failure-filled attempt to create a woke Canada in your post-national, non-Canadian image.

Even with your extensive PMO staff, your government cannot Google important, high-level appointments to find out their embarrassing and improper statements from the past, not to say anything about your exuberantly hand-picked governor-general — Julie Payette.

I urge you to stay so you can’t blame the defeat on the lack of Liberal Party support (you have single-handedly destroyed that once-great institution), or on the faults of your successor.

Ignore those hounding you for your resignation, and please keep repeating the mantra of you staying in order to protect democracy.

You are right — taking a defeat on the chin is democratic.

You can’t damage Canada much more in the next 16 months than you already have — keep your “B” team in place.

You did it, you answer to it.
