The pandemic and the lockdowns have created challenges for pretty much everyone. Although there have been unique struggles that moms have been dealing with since this all began.
When it comes to managing the kids and schooling, it’s been a headache since the pandemic first began.
Depending on what province you’re in, many moms have had to deal with the stresses of school shifting back and forth between online learning.
A year ago, remote learning was an ad hoc affair and for much of the day, parents were on their own.
When schools returned, moms had to deal with the added hassles of health screenings, making sure clean masks were ready, prepping the hand sanitizer and more.
This past year has also made many kids an emotional wreck. And who has to deal with it and keep their kids’ spirits as strong as possible? Mom, of course.

They’ve been coaching kids through the COVID-19 fears and anxieties and doing their best to shield their children from the awful stories on the news. When the pandemic is over, they’ll be helping their kids return to normal life.
Hats off also to the moms who are essential workers — whether they’re health care workers, grocery store employees or teachers.
Hats off to grandma as well. While some grandmas have been able to help out, others have been isolated away from their kids and grandkids, longing for the time when they can once again embrace.
Everyone needs a break and it’s been hard to get one. Dad and the kids owe mom that extra hour of “me time” this weekend — even if it’s just to go for a walk, should everything else in the province be shut down!
Although one small benefit from restrictions is that some families have been able to enjoy a newfound closeness. Parents and children have spent less time rushing to after-school and weekend lessons and practices. This means more downtime, and more meaningful one-on-one interaction.
Moms have been there through it all.
Mom, you’re the best. Thank you for all that you do.
