TIME FOR A CHANGE

Re “Fear major motivator steering Canada toward disastrous 4th Liberal term, poll shows” (Lorne Gunter, April 20): Gunter says fear is a lousy reason to vote for any party. Frank Sinatra, ‘Chairman of the Board,’ told us: “Fear is the enemy of logic.” My ‘seniors’ cohort listens to the former chairman of Brookfield Inc., Mark Carney, who led that firm’s environmental, social and governance portfolio. Just another Trudeau/Guilbeault ideologue. Not a sound basis to retain the ruinous status quo. Our forefathers who stormed Juno Beach against the Nazis in the Second World War knew fear but drew on bravery to stop tyranny. John Wayne, ‘The Duke,’ said: “Courage is being scared to death, and saddling up anyway.” Vote change for the sake of our progeny.

(Canada needs a fundamental change in direction from the terrible Liberal policies which have plagued this country for a decade)

LIBERAL SCAM

I have a hard time to believe a recent poll that suggests seniors don’t care that the Liberals are going to add billions of dollars to our debt so they are going to vote Liberal. I am 73 years old and my concern is for my country, my children, grandchildren and, soon, great-grandchildren. They will be the ones suffering with the debt. How will the Liberals get it back? As they always have done — higher taxes. Hopefully the majority of Canadians see through another Liberal scam.

(Let’s hope common sense prevails when voters cast their ballots)

TIME OUT FOR GRITS

Mark Carney likes to use hockey examples to describe his campaign. He talks about dropping the gloves and elbows up. I would like to suggest that he refer to the penalty box. After a decade of Liberal mismanagement, the party needs a timeout from government to sit and reflect on what they did wrong.
