SOCIETY DOESN’T OWE YOU A HOME
To those Sun columnists who claim Canada has a housing crisis and the government should do something about it, this usually means spending tax dollars. I can tell you we have a work ethic problem. Kids who don’t work hard enough at school or trade school or avoid drugs or excess alcohol or can’t budget end up with housing problems. Let personal initiative and free choice lead to housing, whatever that ends up being. Society owes no one a home.

(The problem are many of the policies, bureaucracy and red tape all levels of government have imposed on the market which deter development. Add to that a limited supply for an overwhelming demand)
INSIDER TRADING
Well, if anyone wonders why politicians become millionaires after taking office, this tariff war is a perfect example. Politicians in Trump’s inner cycle and billionaire friends I’m sure know ahead of time when tariffs will be announced and the pause on tariffs, making stocks rise in value more in one day than the last 20 years. I wonder how much they all made in this one day? I wonder how much they made with this latest pause on tariffs?

THANK YOU SUNNYBROOK
A well-deserved shout-out to Sunnybrook Hospital and Odette Cancer Centre. I received exceptional care from my rock star surgeon Dr. Coburn with her excellent medical knowledge/skills. She is world renowned. Also to the excellent care I received in the CT scan unit. Unfortunately, I had to return to Sunnybrook’s emergency department due to sudden onset illness. At this location, I was treated with great care by Alex in triage, and the nursing staff in the blue unit. I am very grateful for the care I received from the staff at Sunnybrook. Honorable mention goes to the department of ‘my chart’ medical records for their good sense of humour, which de-escalated my anxiety over my medical situation. Thank you, Sunnybrook, for a very positive experience.
