BEEF UP OUR MILITARY

The next government of Canada must prioritize and strengthen national defence, given the current situation that Canada and the world are in. I feel that by allocating more funds towards Canada’s national defence, they would not only allow Canada to better defend itself against any potential threats but also provide us with a better sense of security. For years, the Canadian government has failed to meet the NATO standard of allocating 2% of its GDP to defence. Even though increasing the amount of funds allocated to the defence sector would be a challenging task, it is still possible to do without going into debt or raising the tax on citizens. Instead, the government must review and eliminate any useless spending and redirect those funds into protecting our nation. The Canadian government commonly sends financial aid to foreign nations, some of which could be reallocated and used to strengthen our own defence capabilities. While sending financial aid to foreign countries has its place, ensuring the safety of your own people and country should be the government’s top priority. National defence is not something to have in the back of our minds, it is a major responsibility for both the current and future governments to care for, and as Canadians we must hold the next government accountable.

(Canada should have been investing in our military and national defence for the last decade but the Trudeau Liberals recklessly spent our money on other things. Carney will do the same if the Liberals form government again)

LIBS FAILED ON DEFENCE

It seems pretty obvious that the Liberals have a plan to meet our NATO commitment. Not to raise defence spending to meet 2% of the GDP, but to lower the GDP to meet the amount we are now spending on defence. The no pipelines bill is and will continue to be a big part of that!
