Re “City hall a partner in crime” (Joe Warmington, Aug. 20): Undocumented Residents Day, eh? What a slap in the face of many people who have legally immigrated to Canada and settled in Toronto and many more who are waiting in line waiting to do it the right way! Why are we obsessed with celebrating wrongs and emboldening wrongdoers? This sends a wrong message. Toronto needs strong leadership and those who are silent are complicit in the further degeneration of Toronto. I hope city resources were not used for this event.
(Taxpayers’ money was absolutely used for this event. This is Olivia Chow’s Toronto)
CHANGE THE SYSTEM DOUG
Dear editor, for once I am almost at a loss for words. Throwing a party for lawbreakers goes beyond the pale. How far is the extreme left going to go before people say, “Enough!”? To solve the car problem, why not make Toronto a “sanctuary” for carjackers? As the hard left owns the city centre, I would ask Premier Ford to undo amalgamation. Core out the city centre, using the map of Rob’s mayoral victory, cut out the red, let the left have their utopia, and allow the rest of us to have a city which is functional.

(There is so much wrong with this it’s hard to comprehend but nothing will change with the current crop of councillors)
SINGH’S FINERY FUND
“Having an identity crisis” as your Aug. 21 Editorial suggests? Surely not the peacock Jagmeet Singh whose predilection for Rolex watches and bespoke tailoring is testament to his identification with the privileged. The NDP will continue to be Trudeau’s stalwart supporters until next year when Singh’s pension kicks in, a payout of an estimated $2.3 million over his lifetime to ensure that his finery fund remains well endowed. Fine feathers do indeed make fine birds. Sadly, though, just for some.

(Sadly yes, we are stuck with Trudeau because Singh is single handedly keeping him in office)
