CUPE NONSENSE
What is it with the pervasiveness and perversion that the most senior CUPE executives have built around blatantly overt and repugnant Jew-hating statements and actions? The dybbuk that occupied its former leader Sid Ryan — with a penchant for repugnant anti-Semitic remarks, himself — has found ensuing refuge in his ‘disgusting’ CUPE successor’s corpse, the loathsome Fred Hahn; now on the precipice of reenacting Ryan’s former CUPE death spiral. Twice in a row? How deep does the hatred go? CUPE needs a titanic wash and disinfect, not just another rearranging of the deck chairs.

CONSUMER PRODUCTS
I read with interest Sylvain Charlebois’ column “No Listeria hysteria in ’24” (Aug. 20) about Silk products, listeria and the recall; and the very little attention about it, as I was thinking the same thing. I have consumed Silk Almond Milk for years, so I was concerned to have one of the recalled products in my fridge. Of course, I disposed of it, but I had already consumed most of it. Then I later read that listeria symptoms can take up to 70 days to appear … and so I wait. I, like Mr. Charlebois, am very surprised at the lack of news and transparency from the company on this. I have not been able to find much information online or anywhere. On my most recent grocery shop I saw that Silk Products have quietly returned to the shelves. I would love to purchase said product again, but I am nervous to, given the “silence.” Apparently, the company is “still investigating” … not very reassuring. Bottom line … are Silk products safe to drink again? Maybe the Toronto Sun could do an investigative Q&A with the company. I’m sure I am not the only person wondering.
