PARK PLACE

On the news we have seen this many times lately. A man stops in a designated bike lane to pick up his daughter, there is a confrontation with a bylaw officer and eventually the dad is arrested. Now here’s the oxymoron — did you notice the number of police cars parked in the bike lane? There were six or more attending. Toronto, you have a problem.

PICKY PICKY

First of all, Kamala Harris is married to a Jew and is parenting Jewish children as they grow up. This is not about Judaism at all. There are about 10 million people of Jewish descent in America. Small amount of population to move the needle. Shapiro was not selected because of who he is rather is about what he is. He is confident yet demanding, he is forthright yet in your face. He is very ambitious yet does not want to wait his turn. He would like to be the president not vice president. He wanted more of a say in everything than what she wanted to give him. Walz is happy with position No. 2 and Shapiro was not. That is the bottom line. Guest columnist Ben Shapiro (“How not to pick a Jew for vice-president,” Aug. 8), should not create problems or innuendos that are not there. It is too easy to blame it on his faith, rather it is everything but his faith. Your opinion is way too harsh and rather than dividing, support and embrace to push Trump into golf courses on a full-time basis. Your rhetoric is not refreshing and next time find another card to play.
