WELCOME BACK, MR. TRUMP
Is it just me, or did Justin Trudeau get spanked like the petulant child he is by Donald Trump, during his recent visit to Mar-a-Logo? I don’t believe that Trump wants to impose a 25% tariff. He certainly will if he has to, but I believe, only if necessary. Along with being a scare tactic, his opening salvo is right out of Negotiation 101: start high and finish somewhere that works for everyone. Have you noticed all the world leaders recently asking, “How high?” when Trump says, “Jump.” They know he’s serious and we do need someone to get tough. The status quo obviously isn’t working. Besides, if threatening a 25% tariff gets Trudeau taking things like border security and national defence seriously, then I say “Thank you, Mr. President and welcome back to the White House. As a token of our appreciation, here’s some maple syrup and real beer, not the coloured water you Americans drink.”

(Trudeau’s response? Criticize the American people for not voting for Kamala Harris. Our current prime minister is not a serious leader)

WHO’S LAUGHING?
Justin Trudeau is continually berated in your daily columns, letters etc. Is it his fault that Canada is the laughing stock amongst the world’s nations or is it Canadians, or should I say the voting citizens of the GTA? He wouldn’t be in office if federal elections
excluded votes from Toronto, Mississauga etc. Of course, he is currently propped up by NDP’s Singh who is also in office because he was elected by clueless citizens who actually believe politicians are smart people who do as they say. Perhaps the public should be required to be educated in basic political affairs before being afforded the right to vote. The fact that Olivia Chow is mayor of Toronto further emphasizes the lack of political sense in this region.

(Even for many of those Canadians who have supported him aren’t going to make that mistake again. He took his election wins and interpreted that as making us a laughing stock — that’s on Trudeau)

GUN LAWS
Every dollar wasted attacking gun ownership is a dollar that could have instead been spent solving gun violence. We already had the appropriate laws. What we lack is enforcement, and always will as long as this Liberal/NDP coalition survives. No serious person can support this waste of money, no matter their personal views on legal firearms ownership, and the polling continues to show that they don’t.
