SAME OLD LIBERALS
It does not matter who becomes the next federal Liberal leader because a Liberal is a Liberal and the three letter word for Liberal is tax. This has been proven over many years of Liberal rule whether it is municipal, provincial or federal. Taxes to Liberals are control over the masses. I was born in Canada at the end of the Second World War. The first prime minister I recall was Louis St. Laurent. In conversations with several others of my generation, we have all agreed that Liberal governments only want power and control over the electorate. I remember speaking with a business man when I was younger and the topic came up about Pierre Trudeau, another destroyer of Canadian values. He said to me that if you shake hands with a Liberal you better count your fingers afterword. I also recall whenever we had a Liberal prime minister we had tough times getting by. Therefore, it does not matter who the next federal Liberal leader is because the same ideology will be used to govern and the past years with Justin Trudeau as our prime minister have created long-term damage to Canada.

(This is just as accurate for those currently running to be the next Liberal leader. Most of them were standing next to Trudeau implementing disastrous policies and the one who claims to be an outsider was his advisor for years)
ELECTION SEASON
For those who study history, it is a fact that it has been quite common for Ontarians to elect a party that is opposite to the one in power federally. I think Doug Ford wants to win an election now because he knows that it is likely that the next federal election will be won by the Conservative Party, thus creating the possibility that, should he put off calling a provincial one, there is a chance that it could mean when he does, a Liberal win in Ontario might follow historic lines.

(That’s a fair assessment of the political calculus which has been made. But for the federal CPC, polls are tightening, so it is them who really wanted an election now)
