To the people of Canada, please stay with us. Hopefully this nightmare will be over soon. Please remember that fully two thirds of eligible U.S. voters did not vote for the current president. Although I cannot speak for those who did not even bother to vote, I can say that those of us who did vote for Harris/Walz are every bit as appalled as you are with the way things are going. For the time being, yes, please reject anything American. Most of us understand your feelings. As an American, I too reject much that is the current America. I am a 23-year military veteran, and I am disgusted with my government. This is not what I defended. But, it will be over soon, and we can resume being great neighbours and friends. For decades I have travelled in Canada, and have had many business contacts with Canadian businesses. I love Canada. Again, please do what you need to do now, but also please remember that it will get better.

LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR

I am a U.S. citizen writing to say I am sorry. I have spent quite a bit of time in Canada, and think of you as our friendly neighbours — the kind you would help if they needed it. Canada is now in an untenable situation, courtesy of the person who occupies the White House, and I cannot say enough that I am sorry for this mess. Half of us did not vote for him, and know there is no easy resolution to this. Please remember your neighbours love you.

GREENLAND TO CANADA

One has to dream: Wouldn’t it be nice if Denmark sold Greenland to Canada at a steal of a price — just to get under Trump’s skin.
