JUMP FOR JOY

Jan. 6 should now be declared a national holiday in Canada thanks to Justin Trudeau’s Canada-saving resignation. No need for the Liberals to have a leadership race — just give it to this new person leading the polls: None of the Above. The end of this far-left minority with radical, unacceptable views cannot happen fast enough.

BLAME GAME

Despite the huge amount of harm Trudeau’s authority did to Canada, I feel genuinely sorry for him now that he’s being stabbed in the back by his many friends who either fully supported his actions or persuaded him to take those actions. He’s a man who has lost everything but his money; the actions of the Liberal Party now reveal itself for what it is. Don’t blame Justin alone.

HANGING AROUND

So, Trudeau finally resigned — or did he? He still gets to have all the trappings of PM until sometime in March. He still gets to pretend he is relevant in dealing with Trump. Enough is enough, we need an election to get the left-wing zealots in office to deal with the new realities south of the border.

LESSONS LEARNED

Thank goodness he is gone. But let’s not forget how Trudeau got elected three times. Collectively, we are responsible for this mess. Collectively, we have to pay more attention to reality, not wishful, fanciful thinking. Issues do matter, and we all need to pay more attention and be skeptical about what are likely empty political promises. That is how we will avoid duplicating our mistakes.

FIRING LINE

With the long-awaited resignation of Trudeau, I can’t help but feel, as should we all, somewhat concerned. We should be concerned that there will still be enough fireworks left for Canada Day.
