NAME CHANGE

The first thing the Conservative Party should do if they win the election is change the Environment and Climate Change Canada department back to plain old Environment Canada. Trudeau’s attempt to remind us daily about climate change is laughable. Somebody is getting rich, but it’s not helping lower emissions.

(There are going to be so many things that Poilievre will change after the disastrous Liberals are gone)

THIS CENTURY BOOZE

Our latter-day consumer booze organization (LCBO) needs to take a step into the 21st century. Their mindset belongs back in the Prohibition Era. It was a dramatic failure and fuelled illegal activities. According to OPSEU, our demon alcohol can only be controlled by dutiful public servants pouring profits back into the public purse. Puh-lese, people. Why not join the new alcohol marketplace privatization movement by becoming licensed retailers and running your own grocery and drinks store? The taxes you pay will contribute greatly to our public purse. Meanwhile, should we feel the need, those of us provincials in the Ontario borderlands next to Quebec and Manitoba can do the interprovincial hop and snuggle (smuggle?) some bottles of fermented beverage back home. Bottoms up! Cheers!

(It is still shocking we have such antiquated alcohol sales)

FIX HEALTH CARE, TOO

Nice of Premier Ford to publish maps showing retail outlets for alcohol. Perhaps he is hoping the booze will help us forget it is impossible to find a family doctor in his province. Please get your priorities in order, Mr. Ford. Or maybe they are, sadly.

(Ford needs to reform health care and it should be a priority)

MORTGAGE WRITE-OFF

The Liberals seem to forget that if they treat my principal residence as an investment, I am entitled to write off my mortgage interest. Over the last 25 years I have paid nearly $500,000 in interest on my loan. Are they prepared to write me a cheque. Just asking, Mr. Trudeau.

(The Trudeau Liberals haven’t thought much of this through)
